About this course

An introduction to planning and designing bathrooms. Whether you are a practising interior designer or someone just looking for ideas and inspiration for your own home, this is an area of design that requires specialist knowledge.

Course Description

This course will consider the fundamentals of practical bathroom design. The emphasis will be on understanding the range of considerations involved in planning and designing a bathroom, and putting these into practice in practical workshops which respond to a client brief. The days will also examine planning issues, the latest style trends and new technology.

The syllabus includes:

The principles of bathroom design

Taking the brief and tailoring to lifestyle

Space planning and relevant regulations

Sanitaryware and bathroom equipment

Materials and finishes

Storage

Colour and lighting

Style trends and new technology

Practical workshops

This course takes place in London.

9.30am arrival on the day.

Teaching hours 10.00am - 4.00pm

Tutors

Fiona Bell MA (Dist.), DipKLC

Fiona Bell is an interior design tutor with fifteen years of experience in the industry. She trained at the KLC School of Design in London and has worked for several interior design consultancies as well as running her own company.  She teaches the Certificate course at KLC, specialising in residential design. 
 

Adrienne Chinn - tutor at West Dean College

Adrienne Chinn

Adrienne Chinn trained at KLC School of Design and has run her own interior design consultancy in London and Brighton since 1999, specialising in residential design. Since 2014 has taught regularly at KLC School of Design in London where she manages the short course programme, and Cohim Design College in Beijing and Shanghai. 

Evey Dunbavin-Hands

Having studied Textiles & Fashion at Central Saint Martin’s School of Art and Design, Evey built a career in Fashion and Advertising, then went on to retrain as an Interior Designer at the KLC School of Design.
