About this course

This course is a short weekend with a timetable variation: 10am-5pm on Saturday and 9am-4pm on Sunday.

Create your own calligraphic masterpiece as you work with masking fluid and coloured washes to give dramatic results in your calligraphy. Use coloured backgrounds to achieve a brightness that can't be matched by any other technique, allowing you to create a stunning layered artwork.

Course Description

During this course Maisie will teach you the expert tips and the tricks you need to be able to successfully master this combination of techniques.

You’ll explore colour blending, metallic washes, highlights and embellishing techniques that can help you to bring your calligraphy to life. By the end of this short course, you will have designed and created an artwork that is totally unique to you.

Please bring your own wording – we recommend a phrase of 10 words or fewer. You can choose to use a brush or a pointed nib and work with masking fluid, inks, paints, metallics or a combination. All these materials will be provided.

Maisie will guide you to meet your own goals, whether that is having a relaxing, social time, or mastering a tricky new technique. She is an expert in helping you to choose and use different tools to get a great result.
