This weekend for recorder consorts will cover a wide range of recorder consort repertoire, from the Renaissance period, through to the present day. The course is aimed at intermediate level players who can play confidently on both C and F instruments. Any players who have great or contrabass recorders are very welcome to bring them.
We will work as a single group for the weekend; the primary focus will be on Peter Philips’ Pavan Passamezzo and music by Michael Graham. We will also study a variety of other repertoire for contrast. This music will include classics from the recorder's Renaissance and Baroque periods, as well as some arrangements of lighter styles and some original works from the 20th and 21st centuries. The music will be carefully tailored to the size of the group and the ability of the players who choose to come on the course.
Please note that on Saturday there will be an evening class ending at 9pm, so if you are non-resident you may wish to book in for dinner in advance.
