Clunie Fretton is a classically trained sculptor, master carver & gilder. Her work is featured in St George's Chapel Windsor, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Houses of Parliament and churches and cathedrals around the UK.
Describe your approach to teaching
When I teach I work hard to make it a rewarding experience for my students. Carving, gilding and sculpture are skills which can take a lifetime to master, but they should be enjoyable from the outset even to a complete beginner.
What inspires your work?
My work is inspired by the classical tradition of sculpture and ornament, particularly the European and British styles of historic sculpture and carving.
