This course focuses on the fundamentals of designing for residential interiors, covering topics such as the design process, colour, using fabrics and trimmings, lighting, space planning to scale, soft furnishings, developing a concept, putting together a design scheme, sourcing, and presentation boards. The course culminates in producing a professional quality concept board and a sample board for a room in your own home or for a “West Dean client”.

Anybody thinking about entering the industry and wanting to test the water
Any person who wants some fundamental knowledge and skills for their own personal design projects
Anyone with an interest in design looking to broaden their knowledge and have an enjoyable experience!

Courses start early evening. Residential students to arrive from 4pm, non-residential students to arrive by 6.45pm.
6.45pm: Welcome, followed by dinner (included).
8 - 9pm: First teaching session, attendance is essential.
Daily timetable
Classes 9.15 - 5pm, lunch is included.
From 6.30pm: Dinner (included for residential students).
Evening working - students may have access to workshops until 9pm, but only with their tutor's permission and provided any health and safety guidelines are observed.
Last day
Classes 9.15am - 3pm, lunch is included.
Residential students are to vacate their rooms by 10am please.
