West Dean College bookbinding student Marci Welch has designed and created “For A Lady”, the official guest book for Jane Austen’s 250th birthday at Jane Austen’s House.
We are transforming our Gardens entrance and moving it to a new building, the Gardens Gatehouse. Located next to the current visitor centre, the new Gardens Gatehouse will house the Gardens entrance, our Craft Shop, the Plant Nursery, a range of fantastic gifts and a series of creative taster sessions.
Inspired by watching Portrait Artist of the Year during lockdown, BAAC student Lizzie Patterson joined West Dean to rekindle her creativity. Now, her collage-and-oil portraits have taken her all the way to the Sky Arts stage.
Interior Design student Maríanna Björk Ásmundsdóttir has triumphed in the Jacaranda & KLC design competition. Her winning rug “Vetur”, inspired by Iceland’s winter landscapes, will be produced alongside her shortlisted design “Haust” as part of Jacaranda’s new Nordur Collection.
