Interior Designer
What is your professional background prior to KLC?
I was a university registrar.
When you were looking for courses, what was it about this course that appealed to you?
I was keen to find something full time that was no longer than 3 months. I wanted to learn a broad range of skills and cover various topics during my studies. This, together with the impressive industry contacts, kept drawing me back to KLC. I made the right decision!
How does the course fit around your lifestyle?
I’m an international student and came to London specifically to study, so my lifestyle is that of a student who would like to really explore this fantastic city – which I will fit in once the course has finished!
What are you enjoying most about the course?
I’m really enjoying the learning process and appreciating the knowledge imparted, not just from the tutors, but from other students. Some guest lecturers are KLC graduates and their first-hand experience is not just invaluable, but inspirational.
Where do you look for inspiration?
Nature would have to be my first inspiration as I can find so much beauty just by looking out the window. I can find elements, which could be colour or texture that can be included in something I want to create. I am also inspired by Islamic art as I have lived in the Middle East for the last 7 years and am particularly drawn to their rugs and mosaics. And I’m a lover of textiles and use patterns, colours and colour combinations for inspiration. Oh… and of course there’s Pinterest!
