You will be building up an image by applying a variety of inking methods to create a print using an etching press. You will be taught how to think in layers, and you will be introduced to ways of using a combination of transparent and opaque colours. You will gain knowledge of colour mixing, ink viscosity and printing techniques.
On this course, you will have the chance to create a minimum of two series of monotype prints. You will have gained confidence in your printmaking skills and thinking in layers using colour.
This is part of a series of four monotype printing courses that can be taken as a group or individually.

The College will provide some polycarbonate clear sheet, a variety of quality printing papers, including some Japanese printing paper, newsprint and tissue paper per student, plus some black, white and primary coloured inks to share amongst the group.
