About this course

Taking an experimental approach, we will explore different ways to incorporate a range of found objects into textile artwork. Wrapping, couching, binding, stitching, over, under, through. You will produce a series of unique samples to take away and form a springboard for further work.

Course Description

This course has an emphasis on process and exploration, learning about materials and discovering possibilities.

Bring along some of your own collected items and see what potential they hold. This could include any small found objects in a range of materials – paper, metal, plastic, natural. Different objects will interest each person. There may be a link between your objects or they may be a random mix of things – anything goes. Examples are: seeds, sticks, washers, nails, tickets, feathers, keys, matchsticks, bottle tops, shells.
