Emily McLennan
Emily studied Ceramics at Loughborough University and has a
strong interest in photography and early photographic processes.
Currently she is making photograms responding to the theme 'the
lines that connect us'. Preparatory work includes collage, making
wire sculptures and projecting these to make light drawings and
paper cutouts. Alongside art practice she teaches workshops in a
range of settings and is a private tutor, delivering and assessing
Arts Award programs. She is also a member of AIR and the Blue
Monkey Network.
Describe your approach to teaching:
I have a calm and nurturing approach. I try to discover what each
student finds inspiring and support the development of their own
creative work.
What inspires your own work?
I am interested in the dichotomy between the lines we use to
protect us and our property and the lines we use to reach out and
connect with others.
