Helen Biles

Helen specializes in printmaking, with a process-driven approach. In Laos, she learned natural dyeing from master dyers. She was the Creative Director at HarperCollins and holds a Masters in Art from UNSW. Helen regularly exhibits and participates in international artist residency programs.

Describe your approach to teaching
My approach emphasizes experimentation and process, encouraging students to explore and combine techniques. I foster a relaxed and creative environment where discovery and learning through hands-on experimentation are the focus.

What inspires your own work?
My work is inspired by texture, layering, colour and combining techniques to come up with new ideas. Travel and exploring are key to my inspiration.
