Course Description

Immerse yourself in the art of krokbragd, a traditional Norwegian boundweave technique, in this three-day specialist workshop.

Led by experienced weaver and textile designer Angie Parker, you will explore the principles of krokbragd and how to apply them in contemporary designs. Angie, who has spent over 30 years refining and modernising this technique, will guide you through both foundational skills and advanced tips for achieving precision and creativity in your weaving.

Throughout the course, you will learn:

  • The principles of krokbragd and boundweave
  • How to design with krokbragd and incorporate pattern and texture
  • Techniques for achieving neat and even selvedges
  • Understanding setts and their impact on your weaving
  • Selecting and using materials effectively
  • Rug weaving tips to enhance durability and aesthetics
  • Working with colour to create striking compositions
  • Finishing techniques for professional results

You will be working on a Louet Erica 4-shaft loom, which will be pre-warped for immediate hands-on experience. Warping techniques will also be covered, providing essential skills for independent practice.
