Sarah Dalton Art - Exhibitor

Sarah uses slip-casting and hand building techniques to create intimately sized ceramic pieces of delicate simplicity, each piece is bisque fired and then intricately hand printed using a variety of glazes and engobes. Sarah's aim is to bring the painterly touch of the brush to the quiet stillness of clay. Inspired by the loose and succinct quality of Chinese painting as well as the wild North Pennine Hills that surround her, Sarah experiments with layering, mark-making and colour diffusion to create artworks of clean, sculptural beauty.

Sarah Macrae Jewellery and Rachelle Plassard Jewellery - Demonstrator

Sarah has been designing and making jewellery for more than thirty years combined with teaching short courses at West Dean College. She has always combined precious metal with a variety of other materials including wood, stone and acrylic. Her recent work is inspired by marine plants and seaweeds. Sarah combines silver with polypropylene sheet which she cuts into delicate designs, dyes with translucent colours and forms with heat into exotic statement pieces as well as more easily wearable earrings and pendants. Rachelle Plassard creates elegant designs using delicate patterns which are then cast and repeated to form jewellery that is beautiful to the eye and timeless in style. She is currently working in Hatton Garden expanding her knowledge and skills and has recently launched her first range ‘embellish’ a collection of decorative pieces inspired by a love of the spiral, a shape with strong feminine associations.

Sue Holman print.maker.artist - Exhibitor

I am an artist and print maker who creates relief prints set on abstracted backgrounds, producing unique mixed media pieces that I then hand roll to create lampshades. My inspiration is based on childhood memories of growing up on a farm and being immersed in nature. My work is often giant sized, giving a child perspective of how it was to peer into huge tulips and see the structures inside, or to see a lovely big ladybird creeping through the roses in the garden. I am also inspired by Elizabethan and Jacobean embroidery and wall paintings, William Morris and Samuel Palmer.
