Christabel Forbes
Christabel Forbes is a landscape artist and colourist. She trained at the Royal Drawing School, after taking a BA in Fine Art at Falmouth University.
She has built up a portfolio of residencies in the UK and abroad, based around her use of colour to evoke people and places.
Describe your approach to teaching.
I aim to develop in my students a freedom of mark-making, and to encourage them to extend their artistic abilities through experimentation.
What inspires your own work?
A love of drawing. I like to immerse myself in an environment, rapidly capture the space around me, and subsequently develop this vision using different materials.
