The aim of this workshop is to offer ways to make more money from teaching your creative skills in workshops, courses, retreats or one to one, either in person or online.
This course Is for professional creatives who already teach their skills in workshops or courses. It is less suitable for creatives who are not yet teaching on a regular basis.
We will start with the main reasons why your creative training might not be profitable.
We will then look at whether you are charging enough. You will create a financial forecast for the year, looking at your annual expenses and potential income. What impacts the most on profitability? Is undercharging and confidence an issue for you? And why teaching from your own home or studio, or teaching children, rather than adults, can impact your earning potential.
Patricia will share the three most common creative training pricing strategies with you, for either online or in-person training.
How to change your prices? We will do a creative exercise around ‘perceived value’ and how you can change your ticket price confidently and creatively!
We will finish this workshop by looking at what marketing and planning you need to do to get more ‘bumps on seats’ and to make your training profitable, so you can pay yourself a bit more.
This is a very varied and practical workshop looking at the causes and solutions to make your creative training viable and profitable. Timetable variation: a shorter lunch break will be taken between 12.30-1pm, so we advise bringing lunch with you.
On this course the tutor will supply all the materials, including the presentation, additional resources and planning tools.
Bring pen and notebook (or a laptop) for your notes, and also a calculator (for some basic calculations).
Please wear appropriate clothing/aprons for the workshop or studio, this includes stout covered footwear (no sandals or open toes).
