About this course

Claire will take you through some fun experimental painting exercises, where you will be exploring new techniques with acrylic paint and applying them to your canvas.

Course Description

This is a fun workshop to explore acrylic painting, encouraging you to relax and get creative, taking inspiration from the vibrant city around you.

  • A variety of fun exercises will help improve your handling of acrylic paint
  • Use brushes and mark-making tools for different effects
  • Layer paint and scrape through
  • Add texture and pattern into paint
  • Meet others in a sociable, informal, creative environment

This course is an opportunity for you to relax and have fun with acrylic paint. Join us for a joyful and unique evening class in London.

Course Materials

Included

On this course the College will provide a canvas per student, plus some acrylic paint in various colours and white to share amongst the group.

  • 3 x brushes
  • Rags/ sponges/ other mark-making tools

What students need to bring

  • Suitable clothing for painting or an apron
  • Some plastic tubs or yoghurt pots for mixing paint if you have any

Additional information

Please wear appropriate clothing/aprons for the workshop or studio, this includes stout covered footwear (no sandals or open toes).

Students arrive between - 5.30pm-6pm
Course teaching - 6-9pm
Teaching finishes - 9pm

General Information

Short courses are open to anyone aged 18 and over. The course fee covers tuition and materials where stated. You will need to bring all other items listed under the ‘Materials to bring’ section.

Refreshments

Coffee and tea are included in the course fee, but you will need to bring lunch with you to eat in the refreshments room. There are also plenty of other local venues to purchase food.

Access

Please tell us about your needs in confidence by emailing: [email protected] This venue has steps to the front reception, with limited access via a side gate to the ground floor. There is a small lift to higher floors or stairs.

Short course students are required to sign a safety compliance form as part of West Dean Health and Safety regulations.
