Claire Chandler

Claire Chandler is a professional artist and art tutor living in south London.

She studied in Newcastle graduating with a Fine Art degree in 1997.  Alongside her personal painting practice, she has been a college art tutor for 10 years and runs community workshops and private classes from her studio.

Describe your approach to teaching
I encourage students to see and experience things differently, pushing the boundaries with materials and taking risks to create new and exciting work.

What inspires your own work?
My sanctuary is in nature; a place to breathe, reflect and enjoy.  I see the natural world as a catalyst for my work; these elements continue to energise and inspire me.
