A reading pack of PDFs will be sent to you prior to the course. For How-to reading, Francine Prose’s Reading Like a Writer is a great place to start, if you wish. You can submit 500 words from a work in progress to Laura for feedback during your individual tutorial.

Unit 3
- Show, don’t tell

- A writing workshop in which you will get feedback on your work from your colleagues and tutor
Pre-course preparation
Following the completion of this third unit you will be asked to submit the first 5,000 words of a work in progress for feedback from the programme tutors.
What students need to bring
Your usual writing equipment, notebook and pen, and/or laptop.
Arrival day
Residential students can arrive from 4pm, non-residential students to arrive by 7.15pm for registration. Students arriving earlier are welcome to purchase dinner in the College Dining Room from 6pm.
First Teaching session: 7.30pm - 9pm (attendance is essential)
Daily timetable
Course teaching: 9.15am - 5pm
Morning session: 9.15am - 12.45pm including coffee/tea break
Lunch break: 12.45pm - 2pm*
Afternoon session: 2pm - 5pm including coffee/tea break
Teaching finishes: 5pm
Departure day
Course teaching: 9.15am - 3pm
Teaching finishes: 3pm
Residential students will need to check out of rooms by 10am.
