Mental Health Awareness Week

West Dean Gardens

FREE

Enjoy free entry to West Dean Gardens from 11-17 May, 2026 to support Mental Health Awareness Week.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful walk, a moment of quiet reflection, or simply time spent outdoors, the gardens offer space to slow down and reconnect with nature. Surrounded by seasonal planting, historic glasshouses and open landscapes, come and enjoy a gentle escape from the pace of everyday life.

Throughout the week, there will be a selection of activities to get involved with, including:

  • Yoga sessions
  • Guided garden walks
  • Willow sculpture - Help create a willow sculpture from locally coppiced willow and hazel with artists Mark and Rebecca Ford
  • Japanese Wishing Tree - Write a wish, hope or kind message to add to our wishing tree, a shared reminder that hope matters and no one is alone

Full timings and details of activites can be found daily from the Gardens Gatehouse.

The Gardens Kitchen will be open throughout the week, serving fresh, seasonal dishes inspired by produce grown and nurtured in the gardens on the estate.

No booking required.
