Workshop

Growing and arranging dried flowers with Tom Brown and Clare Brown

West Dean College of Arts and Conservation

£134

Learn how to prepare the ground, produce a number of plants from seed and how to get the best results during this one-day workshop. Following a talk about cultivating your plants, you will visit the Walled Garden at West Dean Gardens to see the dried flower beds.

Whilst in the Garden, there will be a chance to explore lots of different plants that can be dried from hydrangeas to hardy perennials to use in your hand-tied arrangements, with the opportunity to cut your own bouquet. Back in the studio, you will be taught how to arrange a hand-tied, as well as how to use colour and texture for the best effect. Clare will then give tuition to help you create your own, individual hand-tied bouquet with advice about drying. You will take this home to display for months to come.
