Aled Lewis

Aled Lewis has 45 years of professional experience designing and making products and furniture. He spent 10 years as lead instructor at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship, USA and continues to teach there and at other institutions. He holds a Bespoke Guild Mark and has been profiled in Furniture and Cabinet Making magazine and Fine Woodworking.

Describe your approach to teaching
I have wide experience of teaching woodworkers at all levels and I try to help students at all stages of learning. My approach is to make classes informative, clear and enjoyable.

What inspires your own work?
I’m inspired by good design - architecture, furniture, and art. I’m interested in well-crafted objects made skillfully and intelligently and connecting with tradition and utility.
