Mark and Rebecca Ford

Environmental artists Mark and Rebecca Ford use the medium of willow to create their sculptures. Mark graduated in 1996 after completing a BA Hons in sculpture. Rebecca graduated in 2003 in English and Creative Writing. Working in partnership for 20 years, they are part of the Art in Nature International network.

Describe your approach to teaching
Our approach is to offer practical and accessible guidance, in which students are guided to discover the materials. Supportive and playful, they create an environment for discovery.

What inspires your own work?
We are inspired by nature, animals and seed forms. Drawing with willow to create form, we connect with coppice communities and are deeply connected to ancient techniques of willow craft.
