Sophie Middleditch

Sophie studied the recorder at the University of Lancaster and Trinity College of Music and now enjoys a busy career that includes teaching, performing and conducting. Sophie is a Visiting Conductor for the Society of Recorder Players and is well-known to audiences for her work with The Parnassian Ensemble.

Describe your approach to teaching
My approach to teaching is individually tailored to every student I teach. I like to foster a friendly and supportive learning atmosphere. We work hard but have fun too! 

What inspires your own work?
My love of the recorder and its repertoire.  It is also incredibly rewarding seeing students develop their skills and gain confidence as we work together.
