Stephen Featherstone

Stephen Featherstone is an award-winning animator and a Senior Lecturer in Animation at UCA. He studied Film at Bristol University and Animation at UCA. His films, which combine live action and animation techniques, have been broadcast in the UK and screened internationally. He works on commissions and on personal projects.

Describe your approach to teaching
I take a student centred approach to teaching and learning, enabling students to develop their ideas and interests, but encouraging them to try new things and fully realise their potential.

What inspires your own work?
My work is driven by a love of stories, creating little worlds, and visual storytelling. I draw inspiration from many related forms, including animation, film, graphic novels, illustration and theatre.
