Gardens Restaurant

The Gardens Restaurant will be closed from Tuesday, 7 April to Friday, 1 May as we make some exciting changes to your dining experience. During this time our Gardeners Cottage and Shepherd Hut will be open. Find out more and view opening times.

The Gardens Restaurant overlooks the beautiful Lavant Valley and West Dean Park. The River Lavant runs alongside. 

Built in the local brick and flint, the licensed restaurant is light and airy with a large garden terrace where visitors can enjoy some refreshments whilst admiring the views.

The adjoining shop is the perfect place to pick up a gift or a plant for your garden.

The shop, restaurant and the majority of the gardens are accessible to wheelchair users. Please contact us in advance to make the most of your visit.

Free parking for all visitors.

The Gardens Restaurant will be closed from Tuesday, 7 April to Friday, 1 May as we make some exciting changes to your dining experience. During this time our Gardeners Cottage and Shepherd Hut will be open for food and refreshments.

Gardeners Cottage
Open every day, the Gardeners Cottage offers delicious breakfasts, fresh sandwiches, salads, irresistible cakes, and a variety of hot and cold drinks. 

The Gardeners Cottage is located through the Gardens at the front of the building for both alfresco and indoor dining.

Shepherds Hut
Open daily, the Shepherds Hut offers freshly made sandwiches, salads, tempting cakes, and a refreshing selection of hot and cold drinks, all prepared to order.

The Shepherds Hut is located inside the Gardens on the picnic lawn.

Gift vouchers

The perfect present at any time of year, our West Dean Gardens gift vouchers are available to purchase from the Gardens Shop. Available in £5, £10 or £20 denominations the vouchers can be used in the Gardens Restaurant, Shop or for Gardens entry.

In addition to this you can also treat someone to an 'Afternoon Escape' voucher, cream tea and Gardens entry for two people, £30. Also available from the Gardens Shop.
