??On this course, you will learn how to design for small spaces or rooms in your home, including hallways and stairs. The clever techniques that interior designers use to make small rooms look and feel more spacious are discussed, alongside creative styling and space-saving storage solutions. This course is ideal for anyone who is interested in interior design and who wants to gain confidence in delivering their home projects.
Small spaces may be cloakrooms or garden rooms, spare bedrooms or studios, or the increasing trend towards home offices. To best use your small room, you should consider decluttering and the organisation of storage, but there are other ways to optimise the functionality and aesthetics of a small space.
The right amount of empty space can help to make a small room appear large, but you want to fit as much in as possible without the room feeling cramped. You want it to be filled with personality, but not be chaotic and cluttered.?
??The College will supply most of the materials and equipment required for the course.
A selection of magazines and samples, including interior fabrics, trimmings, paint cards, wallpaper, trimmings and flooring, will also be available for discussion.?
??Photographs of the space or spaces you may wish to transform Notebook and pen/pencil?
Please wear appropriate clothing/aprons for the workshop or studio, this includes stout covered footwear (no sandals or open toes).
