Course Description

Design. Build. Scale. The Interior Design Business Blueprint. A comprehensive roadmap to launching and running your own profitable interior design practice.

Pricing and Contracts: Learn how to price your work, protect your time and run a financially sound design business.

One of the biggest challenges for emerging designers isn’t creativity—it’s confidently charging for it. Pricing and Contracts is a practical, no-nonsense course designed to help you understand your value, set fair fees and protect your business from the start.

In this course, we begin by addressing mindset—because knowing your worth is the foundation for everything that follows. From there, we explore the different pricing models used in the interior design industry (flat fees, hourly rates, percentage-based and hybrid models) and help you decide which structure best suits your working style and project types.

You’ll learn how to set your rates with confidence, taking into account your time, overheads, market position and desired income. The course also covers how to manage payments professionally—when to invoice, how to structure deposits and staged payments, and what to do when payments are delayed or disputed.

We’ll then demystify the often-intimidating world of contracts. You'll be introduced to the key components of a solid design contract, from scope and deliverables to intellectual property and termination clauses—ensuring you and your clients are legally protected and working with mutual clarity.

By the end of this course, you’ll have the tools, templates and confidence to price your services transparently, communicate your terms clearly and put legal structures in place that support your long-term success.

Because creativity deserves to be paid—and protected.
