Join us for a festive workshop creating hand-painted celestial Christmas baubles. Inspired by moons, stars, floral elements, constellations, suns and figures of women drawn from ancient Greek art, you will develop a collection of decorations with a magical, personal feel.
We will begin by looking at celestial imagery intertwined with florals and exploring ideas through sketches on paper. You can experiment with different motifs, compositions, colours and patterns before choosing your favourite designs to draw onto your baubles. There will be guidance and inspiration available, so the workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those with more painting experience.
Once your designs are ready, you will paint them onto the curved surface of the baubles using acrylic paint. We will explore simple layering, line work, decorative details and colour combinations, helping you create a cohesive set while allowing each bauble to have its own character.
By the end of the session, you will take home your own collection of celestial baubles, ready to hang on your Christmas tree or give as handmade gifts. All materials are provided, including baubles, paper, pencils, brushes and acrylic paints. Beth's baubles will be on display to draw from.
On this course the tutor will supply some of the materials including painted Bauble examples, flowers to draw from, ribbon for baubles, gold paint.
