About this course

05/08/2026 KS Betina Porter from GG 50% Staff PLace
Explore and learn a range of traditional jewellery making techniques whilst making a beautiful and unique silver spinning ring.

Course Description

This one-day course introduces you to a variety of traditional jewellery making techniques. You will begin by making a thick band ring, choosing your own decorative pattern and width. Next, you will make smaller rings to form the spinning element, selecting from different wire profiles. Finally, you will flare the ring to secure the spinning bands in place. Along the way, you’ll learn essential skills such as piercing (sawing), soldering, texturing, shaping, twisting, cleaning and polishing.

Perfect for beginners, this exciting workshop is a great introduction to jewellery making. With a combination of demonstrations and personalised guidance from the tutor, you’ll complete a beautiful, handmade silver spinning ring to take home.
