About this course

This course is an opportunity for enamellers with experience to review and extend current practice and to learn more about the techniques of champlevé, basse taille and cloisonné on silver. We discuss all things enamel to learn and share as we work.

Course Description

You will work on your own self-directed projects such as pre-prepared items to be enamelled or use the time to experiment, practice or learn a new technique, aiming to produce a series of enamel test pieces and/or a simple finished piece of jewellery, such as; earrings, a brooch, a pendant or cufflinks.

This would also be a good opportunity if you wish to learn or improve engraving for enamelling, and if you have no suitable engraving tools these can be supplied made up to the correct length for the size of your hand by the tutor before the course starts by prior arrangement, (cost paid directly to the Tutor).

This course could also suit experienced jewellers wishing to incorporate enamel into their work.

Your tutor encourages an informal chat before the course to find out what you would most like to focus on during the course, in order to gain the most from time spent at the College, especially if you are new to the course.
