About this course

A taster session to introduce you to patchwork using silk. This 2-hour taster session will be held on the Gardens Gatehouse Craft Table. Please access via the Gardens Entrance.

Course Description

Learn how to make a patchwork of your own design using jewel like silks. We will use paper piecing patchwork to learn how to make a template, cut out your design, how to make the fabric pieces and sew them together.

What you'll make:

General Information

Tutors

Victoria Brown

Victoria is a tutor with 30 years experience teaching millinery, feltmaking and Fine Art. She trained at Goldsmiths College, London College of Fashion and RCA. She has designed hats for Jean Muir. She was a pioneer of feltmaking in the 1980's,and has exhibited her work from Philadelphia to Kirgizstan, has work in the V&A fashion collection and written two books.
