About this course

Learn how to use traditional grained aluminium plates to create expressive and painterly lithographic marks.

Course Description

This course is designed for artists and printmakers to build skills in plate lithography. You will use traditional lithographic pencils and wash to draw directly onto your grained aluminium lithography plate to create painterly and expressive marks. With guidance from the experienced tutor you will learn how to draw, process and print your own lithographic prints on an etching press. You will also be shown some more experimental mark making techniques which can be incorporated too. Perfect for an at home or open access studio environment.

This course covers different approaches to mark making and registration. You will predominately be working in monochrome, but colour can be introduced if time allows.
