Cathy Newell Price Jewellery -
Cathy’s work is characterised by her transformation of the surface of precious metals to reflect botanical forms and scenes. Inspired by a unique combination of a degree in Botany and over 30 years of jewellery making, Cathy’s work evokes experiences of the natural world. Working predominantly with silver, Cathy uses direct casting, chasing and repousse, enamelling, stamping and piercing to create the sculptural surface of her beautiful wearable jewellery.
Charlie High Designs -
Plants are my main inspiration. For source material I collect examples and take photographs. I either cast the piece itself or I do drawings abstracting the main elements to create a design that I can fabricate in metal. I work with metal sheet, using piercing, repoussee, hammering or roll milling to give the desired shape and texture. To finish the piece I polish it and use oxidizing to enhance texture.

Charlie's work largely evolves from the influences of nature and its structures. Leaf skeletons, seed pods, droplets; their appearance is one of fragility yet they have an inherent strength and resilience. Thus her work follows an intricate aesthetic with interwoven structures and delicate elements reoccurring and combining to form a greater impact and larger final piece.
Chris Hawkins Jewellery -
Coming from the traditional background of a classically trained goldsmith, I have knowledge and experience of an extensive range of techniques and materials. I have worked in a variety of materials over the years, including silver bronze wood and bone to name but a few. An early interest in sculpture and a fascination with the miniature led me into jewellery making. I am fascinated by texture and form. My work combines the highest level of craftsmanship, with a sense of wonder and discovery as the closer you look, the more you will see. My work is highly tactile pleasing to both the eye and the hand, conveying in the viewer a need to touch and to hold. I strive to make objects as impossibly detailed and beautiful as those found in nature, a beach polished pebble or a sun bleached bone. I also run jewellery evening classes from my studio in Brighton.
Darren Ball Textile Artist -
The subjects of Darren's work are varied and crystalize as ideas over a period of time. His current collection is inspired by 1940’s Stitchcraft magazines. He produces framed pieces of machine and hand embroidered artwork using free embroidery and applique to construct stylised images, some of which are embellished to enrich the surface of the composition. Economical use of line and gentle humour are combined to create contemporary stitched pieces.
