Her approach is based on the development of the students ideas through conversation and individual guidance, She introduces the simplicity of painting and printing for textiles, and its potential as an expressive medium, through inspirational samples and demonstrations followed by experimentation and play!
What inspires my work ?
Carole's work includes her unique collection of painted clothes -inspired by the idea that a painting has another 'alternative' life when it is worn on the body. The alchemy between garment and wearer is everything.
She also makes large scale installations of painted and printed imagery for walls and three-dimensional spaces - including the landscape - where she uses glass as a laminating device for translucent images on fabric. The connection between ideas, images, memory , light colour and context, all conspire in her practice.
