Ian Scott Kettle
Ian Scott Kettle is a maker of bespoke menswear accessories, with 25 years' design and making experience. His work has been worn by the likes of Cindy Sherman and Michael Jackson and featured in many journals, such as Vogue, Dazed, and i-D. Ian is also a well respected teacher with 20 years experience, now course leader for fashion on the Semester Programme at Central Saint Martins University of Art London.
Describe your approach to teaching:
As a designer and master pattern cutter, my teaching methods are designed to encourage creativity while exploring refined craft methodology.
What inspires your own work?
My aim as an accessory designer is to reintroduce lesser known typologies, such as the band, coif and chaperon to the modern dresser, while working through classic bespoke construction and modern cutting methods.
