West Dean's Archivist, Simon Coleman, recently delivered an evening lecture to introduce the cataloguing of the Edward James Archive which is currently underway. The talk provided an introduction to the Cultural Papers and highlighted material found in both these papers and in other sections of the Edward James Archive.
Following an Open Call in 2016, Eva Rothschild was selected to work with the Master Weavers at West Dean Tapestry Studio to create a new hand-woven tapestry. The resulting work, The Fallowfield, extends the artist's exploration of the meeting points between spirituality, power, visual perception and materiality.
