Shade planting – designing a shade border 19 May 2025, Monday with Martin Ogle

In this course, Martin Ogle will focus on shade-loving plants for seasonality and interest, learning the fundamental steps for selecting the right plants for a successful shade border.

The day will begin with an in-depth lecture on plants for shade and how shade-loving plants can be used to our advantage to promote interest and seasonality within our gardens. Martin will demonstrate his methods for choosing a planting palette for a shade border, things to consider during the selection process, as well as a detailed look at plant character and form, with a ‘right plant, right place’ philosophy.
