Japanese Week
25 to 30 May 2025

A week of courses dedicated to Japanese arts and crafts led by a range of expert tutors. As part of this week West Dean will be hosting visiting master craftspeople from Awagami Paper Factory, Tokushima thanks to the generous support from the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation. This series of short courses includes an array of disciples including paper making, calligraphy, ceramics, painting and metalwork and aims to put a spotlight on Japanese craftsmanship and creative philosophies. Alongside these unique workshops, students can enjoy brief talks from visiting tutors on Tuesday evening.
