This course provides an introduction to the conservation of historic earthen architecture and covers the fundamental principles relevant to the conservation of historic earthen buildings, monuments, and structures. Through a series of lecture-based theory, guided demonstrations, and hands on practical sessions, students will develop an informed understanding of the technical, cultural, and environmental considerations that influence conservation practice and the address of earthen mortars within the historic built environment.
