From the author of GODDESSES and SAY YOU'LL BE THERE, this comprehensive, whole-day workshop will teach you how to develop and structure an entire novel – plot, characters, locations, time-period, suspense, twists and clever endings.

Topics will include: an inspiring exploration of wonderful dramatic dates and locations; devising compelling characters; generating a complex plot; balancing subplots; using real life as inspiration; surprise twists and fulfilling reveals; convincing endings.

The day will end with a question-and-answer session where you can raise issues specific to your own writing.

A good variety of art and craft materials are available to buy in the Gardens Gatehouse Shop.

Additional information

Please wear appropriate clothing/aprons for the workshop or studio, this includes stout covered footwear (no sandals or open toes). There is a small lift to higher floors or stairs.

Student registration: 10am- 10.30am
Course teaching: 10.30am-4.30pm 
Morning session: 10.30am-1pm
Lunch break: 1pm-2pm (lunch is not included)
Afternoon session: 2pm-4.30pm (optional 15 minute break)
Teaching finishes: 4.30pm
