This course is one of a new series of four one-day courses led by Tom Brown, Head Gardener at West Dean Gardens. It aims to take a seasonal look at some of the key aspects of what is growing and happening over this coming year at West Dean Gardens.
In this spring course, which will take place in April, the focus is on the following topics:
- Preparing your greenhouse for summer crops
- Seed sowing and pricking out
- Potting on for summer displays
- Training climbers
- Planting in the Kitchen Garden
- Salads
- Biological controls
- Thinning stone fruit
- Creating supports and staking
Lunch in the Colleges dining room will include freshly picked or harvested produce by the Gardens Team, and you will be given a small takeaway to enjoy at the end of the day.
