Course Description

Join award-winning garden designer, broadcaster and author Ann-Marie Powell for an inspiring evening exploring the ideas behind her latest book, A Year of Colour: How to Create a Bold and Bright Garden. Drawing on examples from her own garden and professional projects, Ann-Marie will show how thoughtful planting and colour combinations can create beautiful displays throughout the seasons.

From vibrant spring bulbs and long-flowering perennials to rich autumn colours and winter structure, discover how to build a garden that remains engaging and full of life all year round. Packed with practical advice, planting inspiration and visual examples, this illustrated talk is perfect for gardeners looking to bring more colour, confidence and creativity to their outdoor spaces.

Guests are invited to arrive from 6.00pm for a complimentary glass of vin chaud (mulled wine) or soft drink before the talk begins at 6.30pm. The evening will conclude with an opportunity for questions and discussion, and copies of Ann-Marie's book will be available for purchase and signing.

Please arrive from 6.00pm at the college student welcome to check in and though to the Oak Hall to enjoy a glass of vin chaud (mulled wine) or a soft drink before the event.

The talk will begin at 6.30pm and conclude at approximately 8.00pm, including a short question and answer session with Ann-Marie Powell.

Ann-Marie is also expected to bring copies of her book for purchase and signing.
