Guitar Festival Timetable
Several evening events are planned throughout the week, a detailed timetable for the festival week will be given to you on arrival.
Arrival day
Residential students to arrive from 2-3pm, non-residential students to arrive by 3pm
Welcome and introduction: 3.30pm (attendance is essential)
First teaching session, followed by dinner (included): 4.45pm
Daily timetable
Classes: 9.15-6pm (lunch included)
Dinner: from 6.30pm (included)
Evening working: students may have access to workshops until 9pm, but only with permission from the tutor and provided any health and safety guidelines are observed.
Departure day
Classes: 9.15am-2pm (lunch included)
Residential students will need to check out of rooms by 10am.

Alison Bendy is a highly experienced guitar tutor, music publisher (Holley Music) and ensemble guitarist with the Aragon Guitar Quartet and in a duo with Gerald Garcia.
Gerald Garcia is a renowned composer, recording artist with NAXOS, Musical Director of the National Youth Guitar Ensemble and guitarist in various ensembles, including the Mandolinquents.
Andrew Gough is Head of Guitar at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Junior Department and also teaches at King Edward’s School, Birmingham. Andrew has been a tutor at the West Dean International Classical Guitar Festival since 2003 and has been the festival’s director since 2013.
Peter Katona founded the internationally renowned guitar duo ‘The Katona Twins’ over 30 years ago and has given recitals in the major concert venues throughout the world including performances at Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall.
Eleanor Kelly is a classical guitarist based in Merseyside, UK. She is a passionate advocate for women in music. Eleanor specialises in lesser-known repertoire by both historical and contemporary women composers. In 2026, she will release her debut album with Pixaudio: a landmark recording of works by the Argentine composer Carmen Guzmán.
Ingrid stands as a luminary figure in the world of classical guitar. Internationally acclaimed for her technique and musical sensitivity, her performances move audiences of all ages.
Described by Classical Guitar Magazine as ‘a guitarist of outstanding skill and originality’, Ian Watt (b. 1991, Aberdeen) has appeared throughout Europe, the Americas and East Asia, including at several prominent international guitar festivals.
